The STADE (STem cell And DEvelopment) research programme aims to understand the fundamental processes by which cells acquire the right fate and location to form functional organs and organism.
The two common broad and intersecting scientific questions that are presently addressed in the program are:
These questions are studied from different angles and viewpoints: intrinsic (genetics, epigenetics), extrinsic (environmental, systemic, mechanics), at different scales (molecules, cells, organoids, tissues), using a large panel of animal models (Drosophila, zebrafish, Xenopus, mouse, birds) or in vitro models (primary cells, tissue explants).
